The Impact And Countermeasures Of Technological Barriers To Trade To China's Tomato Export

Although China is one of the leading countries of the produce and export of tomato in the world, it is not one of the strongest. With the rapid development of China's tomato industry, many advanced countries make use of the technological barriers to trade (TBT) as a main measure to influence the international tomato market in order to protect its own economy, which affects obviously on China's tomato industry. Faced with increasingly stiff competition of international tomato market, it is a focus for all scholars to define the destination of China's tomato industry, avoid the bad effect of TBT, increase the export and to realize its sustainable development.In this essay, the author focuses on the effect of TBT on tomato export trade. By applying economical theory, the essay makes a thorough discussion and analysis on such aspects of TBT as property, character, manifestation, foundation mechanism and economic effects; Through comparing the international tomato market with the domestic one and analyzing the characteristics of international tomato trade TBT, the author finally put forward some countermeasures to increase China' s tomato export from the viewpoint of government at all levels and enterprises as well based on the reference to the measures of developed countries.
