That whether a subject has it's own subject status is an important question that it faced, and is also the question that economics discussed and kept thinking in these years. Development economics whose mission is to solve the economy development of developing countries was borned in 1940s and its prime mission was to help the developing countries getting rid of the poverty.The process of development economics since it was born was full of complications, the situation that developing countries was backward in years make it almost dead in times: it not only experienced the rapid development in 1950s and 1960s, but also pulled through the crisis after 1980s; and its development stage was divided into three phase because of this: structuralism, neoclassicism and neoclassic political economy. Investigating the cause,it is right because this subject is lacking for one unitive theory form as the basis of its own subject status all the time, and thus leading to the result that it can not get the scholars'general consent in its reasonable subject status that belongs to itself.The paper summarized the three phase of the development of development economics, the crisis that it faced nowadays and the future of this subject; through talking about the different attitude among different scholars and integrate with the author's own viewpoint, finally try to reveal the standard when judgeing a subject's status and development economy's status under this standard.The paper can be divided into three parts:The first part states development economics'brought and the stage of its development, namely structuralism time, neoclassicism's revival and politicoeconomical system assay time. Structuralism research from the truth of developing countries'marketplace faultiness, on the breadline and capital shortage to the most, with an eye to developing country's structure unbalance, department rigidity, supply with wants and needs inelasticity,as well as economic subject 's not neoclassicism rational behavior Mode, thought that the requirment of grand structure reformation on the economy of developing countries'development must can not be done by the soundless market system, thus they emphasize that the nation or government is the main body of economy reformation and put forward a series of policy with industrialization and inward-oriented development for its nucleary. Therefore, generally speaking, the microfoundations that can prove the independent subject status and can separate it from the standard economics is still not formed, or we can say that it is forming and because of this, the independent subject status of development economics have not been formed completely. From the sight of the developing direction, development economics was born after the second world war, although it fell into crisis in 1980s, viewing from another sight, all that present is reasonable, the developing precess of a theory is always full of pains, this is the normal rule of a object's development.Though the pains that development economics pulled throuth when put the theories into practice, viewing from development economics'trend, it is true that the developing countries'mission of improving their economy is far from being finished, and with the fact that developing countries will give more lively and fresh facts, development economics must have a bright future with the birth of more theories and innovation.
