Since reforms of the era led to changes of the business environment over the past 20 years, changes of the business environment promoted the development of the purchasing theory. In order to keep up with this trend of development, the theory of strategic purchasing emerged as the times required. Strategic purchasing is used in retail chain. It's the development direction of enterprise purchasing and also the inevitable result of the modern market economy development and fierce competition.Strategic purchasing has become a new and effective strategic tool with which the world's leading enterprises enhance the sustainable competitive advantage and the importance of Strategic purchasing has begun to be taken seriously. However, our academic circle paid little attention to the research of Strategic purchasing, and the awareness and practice of some enterprises is still in the spontaneous state. The existing literatures concentrate on the Strategic purchasing in manufacturing, while there is lack of research on Strategic purchasing in retail chains. The contact of retail chain with enterprise performance has become the focal problem to the intellectual and business. Based on the literature on the Strategic purchasing and enterprise performance in the domestic and international, this paper has done a systemic analysis of the influence on Strategic purchasing of enterprise performance in retail chains.Based on supply chain management theory and Transaction Cost theory, the paper designed the relation model of the influence of strategic purchasing to enterprise performance with design supplier group, outsourcing non-core competencies, purchase integration and enveloping long-term cooperate transaction relationship. Then, the survey was conducted in Changsha, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Beijing and Guanzhou, with 110 questionnaires returned as the data source. this paper mainly used SPSS13.0 and Amos7.0 for statistical analysis. The data study showed that every self-developed scale had a good reliability and validity; It's reasonable that strategic purchasing is divided into design supplier group, outsourcing non-core competencies and purchase integration. Outsourcing non-core competencies and purchase integration are positively related to enterprise performance. Design supplier group impacts enterprise performance indirectly by developing long-term cooperate transaction relationship. The three dimensionality of strategic purchasing is positively related to developing long-term cooperate transaction relationship, the impact of design supplier group on developing long-term cooperate transaction relationship and enterprise performance is significant,and developing long-term cooperate transaction relationship is positively related to enterprise performance. The study also confirmed that it is reasonable to develop a long-term cooperate transaction relationship as mediator variables between strategic purchasing and enterprise performance. which initially demonstrated the complicated causal relationship between the variables. The paper has an important significance in the application of strategic purchasing in retail chain.
