China's Modernization "Latter-developmental Effects" Study

In this paper the basic theory of modernization and latter-developmental effects, the first, define and elaborate modernization's meaning, modernization theory at different stages of development, the basic types of modernization and the background and meaning of latter-developmental effects theory. And on this basis, introduce that some developing countries had the practice of modernization, under the guidance of developmental effects theory. So we aware of : As developing country's modernization process started late, In some parts of the world has industrialization of the new international environment, the development of internal is influenced by external factors, its modernization goal is not only to catch up with developed countries have to achieved the objectives yet, but also adapt to modern trends. To developing country's modernization, the key to success lies not in how to use and apply the first experience of the developed countries, which is how to use their latter-developmental advantage and avoid the latter- developmental disadvantage in the back situation, then find a creative way for the modernization and development. Therefore, the modernization of the "latter-development effects" should to be studied.This paper followed from China's modernization process, introduces Chinese modernization history in the back situation. Since the founding of new China, China's modernization process is a series of setbacks, experience the imitation stage, overtaking stage and the reform and opening up period. Recalling the historical process has enabled us to understand that: latter-developmental advantage is not absolute advantage, projects blindly towards modernization is not a shortcut."Latter-developmental effects" is general effects of challenge and opportunity, it decided that developing countries whatever can't repeat developed countries modernization experience. China is the largest socialist developing countries in the world, besides have developing countries of the general advantages and disadvantages, "latter-developmental effects" in China there are many special performance. From the offside phenomenon, unbalanced phenomenon and contradictory phenomenon conclude China's current latter-developmental disadvantage. And from the general advantages, large country advantages, authoritative government, cultural traditions in these four aspects of our analysis of the superiority. The paper also analyzed the latter-developmental advantages and the latter-developmental disadvantages, that the one-sided emphasis on "Curse" occurs, tantamount to demean them, one-sided exaggerated "advantages are likely to be plunged into a development trap.Based on the above analysis, we think that latter-developmental modernization countries according to their national conditions, their exploration of the road of modernization, it should be seen as developing countries their own theory and practice needs. Therefore, we put forward under the guidance of the concept of scientific development, people-oriented, and building a harmonious society and other modern development strategy, seek the modernization of our unique path, the development of a comprehensive modernization and the development of endogenous-style modernization, the importance of the institutional environment, vigorously develop education, and the eventual realization of China's modernization by leaps and bounds.In summary, china have in a backward position, catch up is our only choice, But the means of catching up should to be studied.
