The Research On Foreign Trade Competitiveness

Since the 90's, the foreign trade of Jiangsu has been developed fast. In 2005,the value of Jiangsu's foreign trade archived to 22.79 billon dollars, but the Jiangsu's foreign trade competitiveness is very low and most export products are labor intensive products. So, how to improve the foreign trade competitiveness, how to become strong trading province from large trading province have vital significance. First, this paper makes a theoretic summary on the research of foreign trade competitiveness. Besides, the limitation and the deficiency of the current researches are also involved, and then we design an appraisal indexes system of Jiangsu's foreign trade competitiveness. We give a detailed analysis on the competitive performance, competitive strength and competitive potential of Jiangsu's foreign trade competitiveness; meanwhile, we give a deep analysis and research on the effect and the influence mechanism that FDI, technology innovation, human capital and exchange rate impact on Jiangsu's foreign trade competitiveness. Finally, this paper provides corresponding advices and countermeasures to strengthen Jiangsu's foreign trade competitiveness.
