Study On America's Community Bank And Its Reference For China

As China's reform and opening-up policy advancing, community economy is becoming more and more dynamic. The unique status, value and functions of community economy are steadily appearing in modern society. However, there exist an imperfect financial system and some mismatches, such as difficulties encountered by Small & Medium-sized enterprises in financing, lack of personal financial service and community finance, etc. with community economy. It is said that community banks can solve these problems. Study of community bank has an important meaning not only in theory but also in solving actual problems in China's financial system.Based on the theory of community bank, this paper analyses the successful experience of America's community bank development, hence put forward the conception of developing China's community banks. The development of community banks not only needs its own sound operation but also requires a financial eco-system favorable to community banks. Establishing and reforming some of Small & Medium- sized banks are good ways to develop China's community banks. And their role should be not a market follower but a market niche.
