Since 1960's, East-Asia has always been the most vigorous and quickest increase area in the global economy. Authority organizations such as the World Bank forecast that East-Asia may still keep the speed of fast development in 20 years. East-Asian, as one of the three biggest global economic plates, can be mentioned in the same breath with Western Europe, North America in many aspects such as its economic outputs, marketplace scale, exchange reserve, natural resources and human resources. However, East-Asia is far behind European Union and North America in regional financial cooperation, which naturally gives rise to the pondering of the countries in East-Asia. Therefore East-Asian countries are reaching consensus gradually in the aspect of reinforcing financial cooperation in the region, under the dual effects of internal need and external driving. But there have always been many disputes on problems such as approaches of achieving the cooperation and feasibility of building East-Asian Currency Area. Though the development of European Union and North American Free Trade Area may play a reference role in East-Asian financial cooperation's practice, the East-Asian financial cooperation can not adopt their development patterns because of the differences in economy, society, and culture, especially political system. Therefore it is necessary to do research and figure out a suitable route for the development of financial cooperation in East-Asian area. And due to the distinctive position of China in East-Asian area, it is also necessary to discuss China's influence on the East-Asian financial cooperation and strategies to be adopted.The thesis is mainly divided to two major parts. Analyzing the necessity and the current situation of the East-Asian financial cooperation, Part I aims at suggesting a suitable way and scheme to the East-Asian financial cooperation according to the developing trend of the East-Asian area. First an integrated plan is mapped out, including the cooperative target, principle and way of implementation. And then, a feasible short-period scheme and a middle- and-long range scheme are suggested respectively. Part II is to analyze China's position and its choice of strategies in East-Asian financial cooperation. In accordance with China's influence in the cooperation, strategies to be adopted are proposed, to promote the common development and mutual prosperity of both China and East-Asian financial cooperation.
