Economic growth is an eternal topic and investment is the main factor driving economicgrowth. Based on the research results of experts and scholars from home and abroad, wecollected a lot of data, used a variety of statistical and econometric methods, studied impact ofinvestment on economic growth by investment structure. First I researched the contribution ofinvestment in economic growth through factor analysis and revealed that the investmentcontribute to Guangdong's economic growth by a rate of 30%. And also I found that RTP is themainly factor of contribute to economic growth and manpower had a rate of 20%to it. Then Iestimated the long-term and short-term effects of investment and economic growth by adoptingthe co-integration and Error Correction Model and found that there was a long equilibriumbetween investment and economic growth and if it disobeyed the equilibrium the ECM will havea little adjustment. Then I discussed the main deciding factors of investment and the growth ofGDP by using the simultaneous equations models and found that consumption is the key factorto stimulating investment and economic growth. Although savings has played a certaincontribution of the promotion of investment, it had hindered Guangdong's economic growth infact. Then a detailed analysis of the investment structure had made and I mainly analyzed theindustrial structure, regional structure, main-body structure, capital source structure and utilizedstructure of investment and found that the investment structure in Guangdong is quiteunbalanced and the industrial and regional structures had an obvious difference. Finally, Ianalyzed the relationship between investment structure and economic growth of Guangdong byeconometrics models and found that the third industrial investment has become a major drivingforce for economic growth.
