Due to the rapid development of the economic globalization economic factors play a more and more important role in international relations. TNCs, because of their great economic power appear to have significant influence both on the field of international economics and politics, The characteristics of being beyond the national boundaries in production and sales lead to a kind of complicated relationship between TNCs and both home and host countries. On one hand, TNCs affected by the home and host countries, passively become the political tools. On the other hand, TNCs themselves actively cast influences upon both home and host countries as well as the two countries' bilateral relationship.Since the period of Reform and Open Policy, a large amount of US TNCs have come to China for investment, which objectively deepens the interdependence of Sino-US economy .Because of the fundamental contradictions in the ideology and social system, there appear a series of frustrations in the Sino-US political relationship . In order to sustain the investment benefit in China and avoid political risks, US TNCs actively take advantage of their great economic power to affect the relevant policies both in home and host countries .Therefore, the bilateral relationship between the two countries is also affected.Overall, TNCs play a positive role in the Sino-US relationship. More studies on the US TNCs should be proposed, therefore, we can find a new channel for the diplomacy to US and a powerful force to sustain the Sino-US relationship. The present paper is divided into four parts: Chapter one makes a concise analysis of the relationship between TNCs and the home and host countries under the background of globalization; Chapter two specifically analyzes the relationship between US TNCs and the Chinese Government on the basis of the US investment in China since Reform and Open Policy; Chapter three analyzes the relationship between US TNCs and the US Government; Chapter four illustrates the US TNCs' functions in the Sino-US relationship through detail cases studies.
