The international logistics has started and advanced with the development of international trade, the level of which influencing and restricting the development of international trade. This paper analyzes the impact of international logistics on international trade, choosing shanghai city as a studying object. In this paper some advices are given on the development of the international logistics in shanghai. If it comes into reality, I will be happy. This paper analyzes and demonstrates the following six parts:First part the exordium mainly introduces the background and significance and related literature of this paper. After our country joining World Trade Organization (WTO) formally in 2001,the development of international trade and the opening of the logistics related field brought higher requirements for international logistics. Under such circumstance, with the promises of entry to WTO, researches on the impact of international logistics on international trade is significant in the fields of theory and reality to promote the development of international logistics and international trade in our country. Shanghai city is the economy center, trade center, finance center, technology center, and commerce center of China, the international trade industry and international logistics industry of which developing more perfectly than other cities'in China. Therefore it is representative to choose shanghai as a studying object. The second part of this paper dissertates on the related basic theory. The international logistics refers to the logistics between/among different countries (areas), which is not only the opposite and extending one of the domestic logistics but also the enlarged article circulation over the country. Compared with domestic logistics, international logistics system has some different characteristics. The international logistics effects international trade in two aspects. At macroscopical level, international logistics is essential for the development of foreign trade. At microscopical level, international logistics is essential for the fulfilling of the international trade contract. The third part is the background analysis of the development of international logistics in shanghai, including the status of international logistics in China and the advantages of shanghai to develop its international logistics. The present status of international logistics in China includes the demands of logistics increase rapidly; infrastructure facilities of international logistics improve greatly; information technology develops a lot; the third party logistics develops quickly. Shanghai as the biggest economy center in China has some advantages to develop international logistics industry, such as region advantage, wide developing hinterland and policy supporting. The fourth part analyses the status and problems of international logistics of shanghai. The perfection of international logistics infrastructure facilities, quick application of information and communication technology, promotion of logistics standardization, etc., all these establish excellent bases for the development of international logistics. In the meantime, there exist some problems, such as information technology applying immaturity and restriction of system, law and ideology, and pinch of talent, which all blocking development of international logistics. The fifth part analyzes the impact of international logistics on international trade in shanghai by using Econometrics method. First is the qualitative analysis. Through the scatter diagram of variable international container throughput and variable imports and exports commodities'amount gained by using Eviews3.0, it can be concluded that in shanghai the development of international logistics has promoted the development of international trade. And then is the quantitative analysis. After choosing international container throughput of shanghai representing the developing level of international logistics in shanghai and imports and exports commodities'amount of shanghai representing the developing level of international trade in shanghai, an Econometrics model is set up. After the regression analysis, the numerical value of the parameters is gained. At last the marginal analysis and elasticity analysis are used to the further analysis on the model. The sixth part of this paper sets forth the conclusion and discusses the advices forward to settle the problems mentioned in this paper. The regression analysis confirms that in shanghai the development of international logistics has promoted the development of international trade.
