Methodological Reflection On "Rational Economic Man"

The ultimate goal of the thesis is to, through systematically looking back at and reviewing"Rational Economic Man"Theory, the very core and methodological presupposition of western mainstream economics, have an impartial and comprehensive estimation of its historic success, failure and contemporary value.Most of the theses before criticized externally and mainly focused on the contradiction between Marxist Realistic Humanity Theory, Finite Rationality Theory and"Rational Economic Man", overlooking the difference between"function-generative"and"existence-descriptive"categories, which could not get the point. However, besides completely going along with it, the thesis combines both the internal and the external criticism and dissertates from the breakthrough in the two dissociable basic economic hypotheses. What is more, based on the synthesis and the contrast of"Finitely Rational Economic Man","Irrational Economic Man"and"Rational Ecological Man", its successors, and combining itself with relevant Marxist theories, the thesis puts forward, discusses"Social Economic Man"with"Dialectic Rationality"for the first time and from the viewpoint of which interprets some hot contemporary topics such as the establishment of the subject in socialist market economy, the impartial understanding of"Economic Man", the insight into the essence of market economy and the ultimate way out of energy crisis.
