The Innovative Application Research Of One-Piece-Flow In Saes

Since automotive industry in China is getting booming in 21st century, the marketing competition becomes more and more strong. For Chinese manufacturing industry which was under the control of planning economy in the past of long-term, it is a critical task how we can win in this hard competition. The inevitable choice is to improve our traditional production way, to increase manufacturing efficiency and to reduce production cost through the lean production mindset. As a manufacturing entity, how to avoid the formalization to quickly implement lean production system? How to aim at the cut-point to kick off lean production activities from traditional production way? This is the question to be worthy of our study.As a result, in this paper, author illustrates a case happened at ABC motor assembly line in an automotive components manufacturing company SAES which was applying traditional production way, to systematically research the application of one-piece-flow which is realized through the way of operators in motion, this research starts from the problems at ABC motor assembly line, bases on lean production mindset of one-piece-flow and focuses on motor assembly process characteristics in SAES company.Firstly, author clarifies the concept and ways of one-piece-flow and its application; and briefly introduces SAES company, basic structure of the motor and its process characteristics.Secondly, based on ABC motor line, author focuses on original line situation analysis in details from the aspects of cost, inventory, quality risks and improvement constrains, anatomizes the problems in this line, makes feasibilities study on corresponding improvement solutions and brings forward the mode of operators in motion.Then author deeply and systematically illuminates the specific requirements to apply the mode of operators in motion in ABC motor assembly line, and creatively points out some methods during application research.At the end, Author demonstrates the feasibility and merits based on the contrastive data analysis between operators in motion application before and after. At the last of the paper, the latest new line---S4 motor assembly line is presented which is applied the mode of operators in motion, it strongly demonstrates the mode of operators in motion has powerful life in terms of lean manufacturing.However author mentions some demerits for operators in motion during implementation research, which is the task for us to be improved further.
