Analysis On The Industrialization And Eco-economic Evaluation Of Organic Rice

The organic production of rice is one of the main research directions of organic agriculture, and the industrialization and eco-economic evaluation research of the organic rice is vital to guide the production of organic rice. The five organic rice plots in Baoying County, Xinhua City, Hongze County, Taizhou Modern Agriculture Comprehensive Development Zone and Jurong City in Jiangsu Province were investigated to study the industrialization development and the eco-economic evaluation. The main results are as follows.(1) The main operation patterns of industrialization of organic rice had corporation plus farmer pattern, cooperative groups of organic agriculture plus farmer pattern and integrating corporation plus base pattern. The research showed the cooperative groups plus farmer pattern was a more suitable pattern for the organic rice industrialization. The rest patterns had certain risks and were difficult to be applied in large acreage.(2) The knowing and grasping of organic rice growing techniques is of crucial importance for the increase of yield, but most of the producers had not well grasped organic rice growing techniques. The economic benefits input of capital and demonstrations by others placed great forces in the adoption of the organic techniques by the peasant households. The knowledge of peasant households for the organic rice industrialization had a close connection with the operation patterns.(3) At present, the growing technique of organic rice was not perfect and many techniques were at the fumbling stage. The choice of rice cultivars should be associated with regional conditions. It was hard to acquire a rice cultivar with the high yield, top quality and disease resistance. The fertilization management and pest control were a serious a challenge to organic rice growing. (4) The economic, ecological and social benefits can be improved by the organic rice production as a whole, but some indexes such as economic output and land productivity could be descend.Based on the above analyses, some suggestions for industrialization development of organic rice and the improvement of comprehensive benefits were put forward.
