Study Of Capital Stock Estimation

Capital stock is the most important component of the wealth of nation and it's the precondition and foundation for economic operation. Capital stock accounting data is an important determinant of macroeconomic policy. Capital stock accounting is an important component of System of National Accounts. There are many difficult issues about capital stock accounting to clarify, include capital stock accounting theory and technology. Therefore, the research about capital stock accounting goes on in two basic dimensions. One is the study of capital stock accounting theory and the other is the study of capital stock accounting technology. This paper at first makes clear the theories and methods of capital stock estimate, and reviews and make comments on the existing studies of capital stock estimate. Then I try to use a new approach to reassessment for capital stock. This approach is not entirely new, mainly to make more reasonable adjustments in the specific details of the practice, and which is based on the redefinition of the concept of capital stock. Then, I use the results of estimate in practice. First I use for contrast, because the research about capital stock was carried on earlier in our country, and there are many scholars to join us. But each of these studies uses different assumptions and approaches. So China's capital stock data has many different versions. Second, in order to verify the result of estimate, I make some application analysis, and combine our experience to do the common sense test. Third, I try to get some new conclusions with the use of improved methods and concepts, and get some new inspirations about some phenomenon.
