It says that railway passenger-dedicated line will be ten thousand kilometers long in 2020.At that time, railways in our country will present a vertical and horizontal framework and the pricing for railway passenger-dedicated line will be put on schedule immediately under this background.Based on discussion about the concept and charactersof railway passenger-dedicated line and the characters of highways and airlines, we analyze some reasons for choosing the two as competitors. Airlines are good at speediness, and highways are exceptional at convenience, while railway passenger-dedicated line are good at coziness and punctuality. And there is research saying that railway passenger-dedicated line compete with highways in short distances, while competing with airlines in long distances. Because of their weaknesses and strengths in different characters, it is necessary to discuss in different distances to decide the optimal price.First, we analyze the behaviors of customers when they select transportation models and the factors that impact their choices. A utility function is established to evaluate the transportation models. Then the LOGIT model is used to calculate the market shares of railway passenger-dedicated line. When the prices of airlines and highways are fixed, the company of railway passenger-dedicated line can get different market shares using different prices. So on the assumption of pursuing the optimal market shares, the company can find the optimal price for railway passenger-dedicated line.At last, through an example on jing-hu railway passenger-dedicated line, we make a conclusion that it is appropriate to make a price at 0.33 yuan per kilometer for one person in short and long distances and 0.50 yuan in medium. |
