China's power industry reform enters an operational stage, of which the first phase of "Separation of Generation and Grid" is successfully concluded, the power company's monopoly is broken. With the advancement of reform, the power companies will be gradually pushed into the wave of market competition. The changes make the Inner Mongolia Electric Power Corporation have to readjust its development strategies, which should not only base on the current situation, but also reflect the forward trends.Firstly, the paper analyzed the Inner Mongolia Power Company policy and economic environment and forecasted the future direction of policy and economic development trends from a strategic perspective, which can help the company to grasp the main developing direction. And then it used the SWOT method combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to analyze the company's internal and external environment comprehensively, which points out that the future development strategies should focus on the internal strengths and external opportunities. Finally it presented the company's specific development strategies, including competitive strategy, marketing strategy and culture strategy.
