Employment has a vital bearing on people's livelihood. With the rapid urbanization throughout China, the employment of peasants whose land was requisitioned has become a new focus of public. But making them employed is not the end of the story. Affected by many factors, the peasants who lost their land often found unadapted in new job. This problem hasn't been paid enough attention. In order to find the behavior of their inadaptability , its reason and right solution, the study focuses on the losing-land peasants who have got employed through government allocation, and makes a demonstration investigation of their adaptation in new job environment. There are five chapters in this thesis. The first chapter illustrates the background and the meanings of this research. As the urbanization is speeding up, losing-land peasants are challenged by changing from traditional planting to modern employment. In this reason, the whole society attached great attention to them. Thus, the study of their job-adaptation not only takes fresh air to the research on this area but also provides the government with important information which could help those peasants to enjoy better pre-job training. Then they can make an easier switch from farmer to worker. The second chapter introduces some related questions. Firstly, this chapter explains the concepts of urbanization, losing-land peasants, job-adaptability, and especially explains the five characteristics of urbanization, then expounds concepts of peasants, migrant laborer, losing-land peasants and peasants who lost land because of requisition. Secondly, the chapter makes comments on related literatures. Finally, the main method of research is decided. The third chapter illustrates the relationship between urbanization and employment. It concludes three characteristics( Rapidness, Diversity, Strongness) of the urbanization of the countryside in Pudong since 1990s. On the basis of the illustration of interacting relationship between urbanization and employment, this chapter makes a hypothesis that the peasants are failed in employment adaptation. Then the hypothesis is divided into three sub-hypothesis, psychology, technique and environment. That orientates towards the following analysis. The fourth chapter analyzes collected information. It analyzes those peasants' basic status, technique, psychology, adaptation and training. Three characteristics of inadaptability of losing-land peasants can be find. First is the inadaptability in psychology occurs because of the collision between the employment reality and expectation. Second is the inadaptability in techniques occurs because of the gap between self-qualification and the requirements for the position. Third is the inadaptability in environment as the change from countryside to city. The chapter also studies the inner reason from two different angles. The fifth chapter conceives the right solution. It proposes to solve the problem by support from governmental, improvement of training system and self-adjustment of peasants. Regulations, money and management should be attached great importance to improve the governmental support. The training system should be optimized by improving the training contents and measures. And there's no doubt that the peasants themselves should also strengthen the ability of adaptation by changing concepts, studying diligently and standardizing behaviors.
