The international transportation market of dry-bulk cargo is a tremendously huge market, which not only involves the yearly cargo volume of nearly 300 billion tons by means of ocean shipping, but also possesses the transportation capacity up to 275million dwt. The transportation of dry-bulk cargo is one of the most important fields of the international shipping marketThis thesis firstly analyzes the form and regular pattern of the transportation of dry-bulk cargo, and then explains the distribution of the cargo sources.Secondly, analyzes the structure and variation characteristics of this market, especially giving detailed analysis on the demand, supply and the related market price changes.Thirdly, analyzes the future development of both the dry-bulk cargo carrier fleets and the vessels used for the purpose.Fourthly, in view of the actual price demonstrational index—BFI and BDI, a null means stationary series is reached which matched ARMA model. The grasp of the whole tendency and short-term precise prediction guarantee the analyzed result of international dry-bulk shipping price to be of certain guidance in practice.Based on the above-mentioned analysis, this thesis hence puts forward a variety of management strategies and development proposals for the dry-bulk carrier fleets, including the strategy for combined management, the strategy of market price, the competition strategy, the fleet structure adjustment strategy, and the diversified management strategy, etc. It is designated to provide scientific basis for the management of the shipping enterprises in the international shipping market.
