The Study Of Corporate Governance Structure In State-owned Commercial Bank

The Corporate Governance structure is an important factor to judge whether thebanking system in a country is good or not. In recent years, some of Chinesecommercial banks remain the unreasonable Corporate Governance structure, whichresult in the deepseated limitation in corporate governance. Nowadays, many banksare being reformed in China, and the capital market is being developed. So it's verysignificant to study the Corporate Governance structure of commercial banks.The Chinese commercial banks are investigated especially in this thesis. On thebasis of the general theory about corporate structure in chapter 2, the content in chapter3 and 4 is part and parcel in thesis. The content in chapter 3 includes thesummarization of commercial banks' history, existing modes, and influence factors.And the content in chapter 4 is the demonstration on relationship between ownershipstructure and banks' performance, in view of ownership concentration of the capitalstock.At last the conclusions could be drawn .In view of ownership concentration, theproportions of the largest shareholder and of nonholding shareholders have nonlinearcorrelativity with banks' performance respectively. And if nonperforming loans andtotal assets scale are taken into account, the first factors will have negative effects onbanks' performance, the second is the opposite of the first factor? According to theacademic and demonstration analysis above, the author will give proposals about howto resolve the unreasonable problems in bank's Corporate Governance structure.Corporate governance is an extensive subject. What is achieved in this paper isonly a preliminary and exploratory research into corporate governance. Limited bydata, time and research ability, some viewpoints are not perfect and may even proveincorrect. However, the results of this paper still have theoretical and practicalsignificance to the perfection of corporate governance system of listed companies inour country.
