The problem of upward influence tactics is an important but somehow neglected subject in theoretic and practical fields of human resources management and organizational behavior.Through the interview and investigation with over 1000 workers from over 10 enterprises in Guangzhou district of China, the content and the structure of upward influence tactics have been studied. Such statistics as exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, analysis of variance, and structural equation model were applied for the data analysis. The conclusions were drawn as following:1. The upward influence tactics structure of Chinese staffs presents four-dimension structure, namely relationship tactics, compliance tactics, communication tactics and performance tactics. The content and the structure of upward influence tactics in our country have some different from those in western countries.2."The Upward Influence Tactics Questionnaire of Staff has favorable homogeneity reliability, construct validity, content validity, which accords with the demands of psychometrics.3.Several factors such as Organization formalization, superior's leadership behavior, and subordinate's self-perceptions of control influence the subordinate's evaluation of upward influence tactics. These factors have different effect on staff's evaluation of different dimension of upward influence tactics.4.The staffs of different ages, different educational level, different current job experience, different position rank, different company's nature, and different department size show significant difference in staff's evaluation of upward influence tactics. However, the staffs of different sex show no significant difference in staff's evaluation of upward influence tactics.
