This thesis aims to afford enlightenments for the reform of Government-Business Relationship in China during the period of market deepening through research on form and reform of the tightly-knit Government-Business Relationship in Korea. The thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter one is preface. It discusses implication and basic content of Government-Business Relationship, putts forward the writing purpose and framework and comments on achievements of research on Government-Business Relationship in Korea. Chapter two researches on the form of tightly-knit Government-Business Relationship in Korea, explores its evolution from World War II until the Financial Crisis in 1997, and emphasizes the pulling role of Park Chung-hee government to the tightly cooperation between government and business. Chapter three analyzes its characteristics and function. For the developing countries, the tightly Government-Business Relationship in Korea is peculiar. It represents as follow: the government holds dominant position with the basis of private system, the government guides the business activities with industry policies, the banks play an particular role in government- business relationship, various means co-exist but with strong administrative atmosphere. The tightly cooperation between govemment and business have effectively promoted the development of business and industrial upgrading and strengthened the international competitiveness, hence spurred the Korean economy development with high speed for a long time. But as the improvement of the economic level and market growth, the defects and problems are gradually becoming evident. Chapter four analyzes the problems, such as too much government intervention and unreasonable government-bank-business relationship. At the Late 20th Century, the Korean government has adjusted a series of policies in order to improve unreasonable government- business relationship, but there were no visible results. The broke-up of Financial Crisis in 1997 caused the complete exposition of disadvantages of this government- business relationship.
