A Study Of The Ways And Drive Pattern Of Development Of The Modernized Services Industry In Shanghai

Along with the economic globalization process and rise of the service economy, Accordingly Shanghai is aimed to develop modern services industry vigorously as to be one of the world cities. This thesis compares Shanghai with other metropolitan areas worldwide in the first hand by quantitative analysis and then discusses the development trend, the problems in it, the ways and the drive pattern of modern services industry in metropolitan areas. Base on this, a possible development direction and appropriate innovation strategies are explored in the end.Structurally, it contains three main parts: the first part consists of Chapter I and II, including the introduction section, literature reviews and focuses on characteristics and trend of the development of modern services industry in metropolitan areas around the world. The second part, including Chapter III and IV, is the key part of this thesis. It , taking Shanghai as a special study area, probes into the ways and drive pattern of the development of modern services industry in Shanghai by analyzing the existing state, drive factors and drive ways. The last part, part three, includes Chapter V and VI. In which Chapter V puts forward strategic direction and policy suggestions in particular. Based on the above discussions, Chapter VI makes conclusions of the ways and drive pattern of the development of modern services industry in metropolitan areas in general.The main innovation points of this thesis centre on: 1) it explores the existing state, trend and problems of development of modern services industry in metropolitan areas; 2) it figures out the drive factors, ways and drive pattern of development of modern services industry in metropolitan areas; 3) it puts forward strategic proposals for further the modern services industry in Shanghai, or more broadly, in metropolitan areas wherever in the world.
