As international community pays more and more attention to the issue of the relationship between trade and the environment, both the environment measures related to trade under WTO framework and the trade measures related to environment in multilateral environment agreements, share the same vehicle, namely the green trade barriers. Undoubtedly, it is theoretically significant to study the concept of the green trade barriers, the impact of the green trade barriers on the mechanism and the effect of international trade.In recent years, developed countries frequently use the issue of green trade barriers to restrict export from China, which causes negative effect on Chinese trade. The quantity of the Chinese tea export have been on the decrease sharply after EU proclaimed the new standard of the MRL of agriculture chemicals about the import tea especially since 2000. Therefore it is practically important for China's foreign trade and the development of economy to research the issue of green trade barriers and whether the decrease of the Chinese tea export is affected by EU's restrict of tea import.This paper is divided into five parts: in the first chapter it comes up with the contents of this paper, points out the research intent and purport, and indicates the frame, research methods etc.; in the second chapter it is the literature review about the matters related to the green trade barriers, and analyzes the researches both in China and the foreign counties; in the third chapter it analyzes the concept and characters of the green trade barriers theoretically, then carries out the economic analysis about the green trade barriers from the aspects of import country, export country and the consumer, and expatiates the impacts of the green trade barriers on the agricultural products and analyzes the effects of the Chinese agricultural products by the green trade barriers; in the forth chapter it combines the related datas & materials and adopts the Gravity Model which is widely used in the world to carries out the empirical research of the Chinese tea export to EU, to find out whether the new standard of the...
