Regulated processing of livestock related products is a certain trend of livestock industry development. What the present study achieved were mainly as follows: First, 3 bases for multi-flavored salt meat production and 4 regulated processing factories were established, which updated both the quality and standard of final salt meat products. 400 families were supported and regulated in doing salt meat production, of which, 144 were newly introduced to the salt meat production industry. 13 families received supports for salt meat processing. Second, the fine processing stream lines were regulated. Third, the industrialized development model of salt meat as company + salt meat processing society + salt meat production families + livestock raising families were employed after the salt meat processing society of Long xi city was firstly organized. Fourth, the regulations for salt products were formulated. Fifth, the packages of salt meat products were determined up to standards. Sixth, the status of Long xi as original salt meat production place was applied and legal approval was obtained. And last, new product salt meat sausage was expoited.The project regulated production and processing of Long xi salt meat was greatly beneficial to ecological balance through establishment of salt meat processing factories which separated the living area from the production one. Within the production area, more attention was paid on the careful panning, rational layout, and environmental protection. As a result, the environment of peasants' living area was obviously improved. Meanwhile, a large batch of surplus labor force in village were turned into competent workers in livestock raising, meat processing, running business and salt meat industry related services. 500 peasants were trained into skilled workers and consequently, not only the production techniques of Long xi salt meat were upgraded, but also the enthusiasm for salt meat production of local peasants were sharply inspired. The project set a leading example for salt meat industry in Long xi city and even in Gan su province, which also led the development of other related industries such as scaled livestock raising, fodder production and goods transportation. Then the local taxes were increased and a new economic growth point was explored.
