The Development Strategy Study Of Changchun Tobacco Corporation

Changchun Tobacco Corporation is established in year 1984, and it is one of the national top corporations. In his developing history, Changchun Tobacco Corporation have got many outstanding achievement, for instance, it was ranged No.1 in Jilin province during year 2002 to 2005 according to the main operation performance index. However, there are many developing obstacles encounter Changchun Tobacco Corporation, for example, the market is saturated, the staff ability is not adequate for the future competition, managerial cost is higher than other corporation. Furthermore, with the entering to WTO of China, the competition from both abroad and domestic is furrier. So it is necessary for Changchun Tobacco Corporation to establish a proper corporation strategy system to get the competition advantage.In the second sector of this thesis, I review the corporation strategy theory and applied the theory to Changchun Tobacco Corporation. First I do some strategy analysis of Changchun Tobacco Corporation, in the macro environment analysis; I applied the PEST theory to Changchun Tobacco Corporation, and analysis the political law environment, macroeconomic performance and policy, the social and cultural environment, and technical environment. Then I use the Port's five force model to analysis the industry structure. In the end of the strategy analysis, I have done both the basic and advanced SWOT analysis of Changchun Tobacco Corporation. For example, in the advanced SWOT analysis, I formed a analysis matrix to capture four managerial functions, and analysis their strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. By doing so, I get the main information of Changchun Tobacco Corporation, and it services as the basement for the strategy formation in the next section.After strategy analysis of Changchun Tobacco Corporation, in this section, I will form a corporation strategy system for Changchun Tobacco Corporation.
