Hayek is the most representative theorist of the neo-liberalism today. His thought is of quite significant effect in both home and abroad and is a hot topic in today's circles of study.Taking Hayek's theory of market economy as a whole, his development to classic liberalism focus on the following three aspects: in the epistemological aspect, starting from the idealism of his world-view and integrating with his theory of knowledge distribution, individualist methodology and theory of social evolvement, he established a complete system of idealist philosophy from which he distinguished two kinds of rationalism from which he supported market economy and criticized the infeasibility of plan economy or socialism; in the moral aspect, he distinguished man-made order and spontaneous order, reviewed the two orders from moral aspects such as fairness, equality, right and efficiency, and discussed the reasonability of spontaneous order and extending order; in the aspect of individual liberty, he distinguished true liberalism and false liberalism, and in order to stress the significance of true liberalism, he discussed in detail the meaning of liberty of true liberalism, related the realization of individual liberty to that of beauty, and planned and described a harmonious and beautiful utopia.Hayek's discussion from the three aspects is to promote such a subject of realizing the harmony of the world by market economy or capitalism.Hayek's discussion of market economy from the height of true, good and beauty is itself positive which contains some reasonable factors that is of important instructing meaning to the development and perfection of our socialist market economy today. But from the whole, Hayek's theory of market economy is wrong, because it contains many contradictions and even some very reactive factors, and we will only be led to a mistaking road if we practice completely his planning in reality. His theory of market economy only points out the possibility of realizing true, good and beauty by the development of market economy but has no true possibility and reality itself. Then, how can it be possible to realize the integration of true, good and beauty of market economy? I think that we must step out the mistaking areas of Hayek's theory of market economy while reflecting the historical practice of the past experience of socialist construction, go beyond"plan worship"and"market worship", and take scientific view of development as the direction to the development and perfection of socialist market economy. Only by that, can the realization of the integration of true, good and beauty of market economy be realized and the construction of socialist harmonious society be possible.
