With the constant perfection and development of the security market of our country, the institutional investors represented by mutual funds will play more and more important role. the mutual funds as the structural investors, their functions to the security market will became more and more obvious. What are the strategies the funds undertakes? And how these strategies work? Such questions have gradually got attention from the theorists and the investors. Successful investment strategies are critical to acquire great achievements for a mutual fund.The paper takes the investment strategies of mutual funds as research content, analysises and concludes theoretical basis of investment strategies and studies the status quo of domestic investment tactics and their problems, that is , although domestic mutual funds take the advanced investment strategies and learn from the advanced use of a foreign investment strategy, and to some extent consistent with the domestic securities market status, but in practice it is obvious that the strategies have the irrational and immature characteristics, mainly embodies in the fund investment strategy effects generally below market average level,convergence and excessive investment risk ,etc. based on the analyzing of the investment strategies of the mutual funds, combined the investment strategies of foreign mutual fund company, and promoted the suggestions how to develop the domestic investment strategy. Through the whole paper analysised and researched, we find that the investment strategies play a decisive role on the funds performance; In the current market condition the mutual funds should take active and valuable investment strategies; decentralization investment strategy should be taken to avoid the excessive risk of Funds; Strengthening the management of fund investment strategy and building the brand funds.The paper adopted research methodology of comparative analysis, classification analysis, the combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, the combination of theoretical research and practical applications, and studied the fund investment strategies and the effects from the perspective of demonstration analysis, based on that, summed up the limitation and the cause of formation of the open-end funds investment strategies in our country, and proposed recommendations regulating investment strategy of open-end funds.
