In order to meet the demand of obtaining advantageous position in the fierce competition, the requirement for our manufacturing is to increase production efficiency and decrease production cost. As an importance resource of manufacturing, the equipment high-lever performance operation is the basis of increasing production efficiency, and the maintenance has always been considered as an effective method to improve equipment reliability and lower breakdown. This paper has deeply and systematically researched in equipment maintenance decision making method combining to the domestic and foreign existing research results.Decision making problem was divided into two parts for research, which is maintenance policy choice and maintenance policy optimizing. According to two parts, multi-objective decision problem was established respectively, and decision making problems was modified based on fuzzy theory, finally, an optimal maintenance decision making was obtained by using fuzzy weight average algorithm.For maintenance strategy selection decision making problems, there were three steps on the decision making process. First, decision making grid was established for the preliminary equipment maintenance strategy choice. Second, decision making grid was fuzzed based on fuzzy theory and maintenance policy was evaluated first time by using fuzzy weight average algorithm. Finally, the second evaluation was carried on to obtain finally optimal maintenance policy by adding maintenance cost decision index.For maintenance policy optimizing problem, maintenance period was optimized. Preventive maintenance period optimal model was established and then multi-attribute maintenance decision making problem was built by using discrete solving process. Decision index fuzzy set was built based on fuzzy theory and period evaluation was carried on to obtain finally optimal preventive maintenance period by using fuzzy weight average algorithm.Equipment operation data during the past one month in GA shop was summarized for example analysis in order to prove multi-attribute decision making method was flexible and applicability. Example result proves the effectiveness of this multi-attribute maintenance decision making method.
