To improve the overall efficiency of production cells in order to obtain maximum economic benefits has been a goal of manufacturing enterprises.The production cell is so dynamic, complex and uncertain that the traditional mathematical analysis and experimental statistics methods not only fail to meet production requirements of global optimum and high feasibility, but also can not reflect the actual production situation fully and accurately.. Fortunately, the modeling and simulation theories of production cells based on the principle of discrete event dynamic simulation can make up for this shortfall, and is widely applied in production planning, resource allocation, task scheduling, staffing, logistics planning and decision-making, playing an important role in improving the efficiency of production cells. However, producers are viewed simplely as a type of ordinary manufacturing resource by these theories, so that the impact of their inteligent individual and organizational behavior on production cells is ignored.As a result, they fails to study the production more systematically and comprehensively. With the'scientific development'and'people-oriented'thinking in-depth implementation of manufacturing systems and the development of organizational behavior research, the problem will become increasingly prominent. To solve the problem, the research on organization-oriented modeling and simulation of production cell is proposed in this paper. The main contents include:Firstly, a framework of organizational behavior analysis of production cells is established,which is based on organizational behavior research methodology. According to the framework, the dynamic environment of production cells and the meaning and characteristics of organizational behavior in prodcution cells is analyzed. Then, typical organizational behavior of the production cell are enumerated.Secondly, from 5 aspects including: the overall framework, the manufacturing process model, the producer agent model, modeling steps and running process, a method on organization-oriented modeling and simulation of production cell is proposed. The producer agent model is presented from its three components: role model, knowledge base model and behavior model.Thirdly, from 3 aspects including: the modeling technology of manufacturing process model, the DLL technology for the producer agent and the storage and access of simulation data, the key technologies of simulation modeling is described. By the way, the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of simulation softwares are compared.Finally, an organization-oriented simulation model for a motocycle production cell is established. Then, the reliability verification of the model and 5 groups of simulation experiments are conducted. The simulation results prove that the proposed method is correct , feasibile and practical.
