| The governance mode selection of strategic alliance has attracted great focus in academia for many years. In terms of previous study, we can approach tons of invaluable fruits, all of which puts much weight on promoting the progress of academic research on strategic alliance, in the meantime, presenting directions for our corporations to practice strategic alliance. However, those achievements enjoy a common deficiency, which is investigating the administration mode selection of strategic alliance from within, i.e. corporations and alliances themselves. They almost cover no outer aspects, especially being short of some relevant survey in industry. Practically speaking, the governance mode selection of strategic alliance boasts a great issue in alliance analysis, it will no doubt be affected jointly by effects from both corporations and alliances within and some key elements outside. If we remain neglecting one of them, we could be brought with any faults possible on alliance governance mode selection. Then the performance of the alliances would also be counted in. Theoretically, by now there is not much study conducted by academia on effects of features of industries in which partners are included on alliance governance mode selection. And there are also no systematic results on that how to affect governance mode selection will the profession relevancy and their differences of industries partners are included in.Accordingly, in this paper I will cite some true examples and practice analyzing them. I have conducted some research on alliance governance mode from two angles below. First of all, viewing alliance partnership as the inner aspect influencingalliance governance mode and struggling to get its effects on alliance governance mode selection. Furthermore, in light of industry, viewing profession relevancy of industries in which partners are included as outside regulating elements to research its effects on the relations between alliance partner and governance mode selection.On researching methods, I summarized previous literatures, presented a concept model and some relevant hypothesis and abstracted a index system of some relevant variations. About the index system, for the reason of enjoying both reliability and effectiveness, I sent out some questionnaires in a relatively small scale and then made further refining and modifications on the index system through small sample examinations. Afterwards, I also sent out some questionnaires around ChongQing University, especially among MBA in Economics and Business Administration School. The accomplishments is amazing, I finally recovered 216 valid copies of those questionnaires sent out, by which I obtained abundant of sample data. On the basis of previous work, I even used SPSS17.0 to conduct regression analysis of those large samples gathered in order to test my hypothesis proposed above significantly.The results reveal that alliance partnership owns a significantly direct influence on alliance governance mode selection. As for the strategic alliance between friends, the relation governance mode should come first, then comes official governance mode. As for the strategic alliance between acquaintances, the official governance mode should come first, then comes relation governance mode. As for the strategic alliance between strangers, the official administration mode should come first, then comes relation administration mode. At the same time, the regulating effects brought by the relevancy of industries in which alliance partners differ because of different partnerships. The findings also indicate that industry relevancy puts little influence on governance mode selection of strategic alliance formed between friends, but it holds a great influence on governance mode selection of strategic alliance formed bteween strangers or between acquaintances. And with the growth of industry relevancy among partners, alliances will be inclined to weaken relation governance mode but strengthen official administration mode. |
