New Media has impacted on the world profoundly, as well as academic circle of the public relationships. Along with the new communication technology's progress and its application to PR, this topic, new media-public relationships, has become an international hot subject gradually, for the related research paper published on the high-level international journals. After discussing the meaning of"new media"and"public relationships", this article search 202 samples in five communication journals and two pr professional journals, which is about the new media-public relationships research. The entire database is from Elsevier Science and Proquest Science Journal.Based on the content analysis, the 202 samples are coded with 14 variables, including the resource, publication date, author information, theory prospective, themes, research property, research method and research angle.The study gets some finding as follows:①Scholars in developed countries, like Europe and United States, especially in US , have paid a lot of attention on new media-public relationships research and they lead this study. Compared with them, Chinese researchers are relatively far behind, lack of any Competitiveness. No mainland scholar is included in 202 samples, and only one professor in Hong Kong published a paper.②New media public relationships research will conduct multi-discipline and multi-country scholars do cross-study. In 202 samples, part of the articles is presented by authors in different disciplines and countries.③Theory prospective on new media-public relationships research, is more based on public relationships theory itself.④Research angle on new media-public relationships research, has get involved in all aspects of social life and is strengthened in crisis issues.⑤In the field of new media-public relationships research, some representative scholars are emerged, such as Maureen Taylor,Jordi Xifra,Jacquie L'Etang,Suman Lee,Bryan H. Reber. They focus on this topic and propose some meaningful suggestions.This study aims to learn the international new media-public relationships research situation and provide Chinese researchers with first-hand information on this topic.
