Research On Manufacturing Enterprise Vendor Managed Inventory Base On TOPSIS Method

Inventory management is the important segment to optimize cost and achieve value added in the whole supply chain. Under the environment of supply chain management, vendor managed inventory (Hereinafter call VMI) as a new model of inventory management which break the traditional segregate model and managed the inventory under the certain information structure with system integration to make the whole supply system get the synchronous operation with the basic of cooperation.This dissertation firstly reviews the supplier management, inventory management, VMI relevant theories, and then to analyze H company's inventory status including purchasing organization, operation process, and inventory cost composing. It was found that long purchasing lead time and high inventory cost is the company's bottleneck. Under the condition of H company's small purchasing scale and weak negotiation power, this dissertation mainly analyzes the potential VMI material identification according to the Pareto method, importance analysis method, Kraljic model matrix, and TOPSIS based on the entropy calculation. Statistical correlation analysis is adopted to investigate the supplier's information to make the VMI material selection more accuracy.Besides the material selection, it is still needed to combine the actual situation to take the implement steps, build supporting technical system, teamwork and process reform, key VMI evaluation method to examine the effect of implementing VMI, and to provide measures to avoid risks in VMI implement to ensure the VMI implement successfully. This thesis is based on the research of H company's VMI project, its study plays an important role in the improving the integrate competitiveness (enhance the purchasing management level, reduce the purchasing lead time) for enterprise both theoretically and practically.
