Research On Supply Chain Coordination Under Asymmetric Demand Information And The Supplier With Finite Capacity

With the continuous advance of global economic integration and developing of information technology, competition between supply chains has replaced which between enterprises. Supply chain management has been regarded by enterprise managers and scholars. However, no ownership relation exists between enterprises of supply chain; enterprises seek to maximize their individual incomes, will affect which of the whole supply chain. The purpose of supply chain coordination is to enable enterprises maximizing the income of he whole supply chain as well as theirs. Therefore, supply chain coordination has become a focus of the study on the supply chain management.This thesis constructs a two-level supply chain system composed by single-vendor and single-dealer, in which supplier forecasts demand, inevitably, the demand forecasted differs from the actual demand in both of the market size and price elasticity; furthermore, results from the change of the supplier's capacity, the scale effect changes correspondingly. Supply chain coordination achieved by the solution of whether and how to change the capacity of the supplier.After the part one and two of thesis which construct the theoretical and methodological basis, part three places extra emphasis on the coordination of supply chain based on asymmetric demand information. Different from the majority of literature of supply chain coordination based on the assumption of symmetric information, this thesis assumes supplier which far from the terminal market can not know the actual market demand, only predict it, but the demand predicted by supplier differs from the actual demand in both of the market size and price elasticity. Under this situation, achieve coordination of supply chain by means of quantity discounts, and verify it by a numerical example.In the part four, firstly, coordination of a supply chain system is studied, in the supply chain system, the supplier's capacity is considered limited, and scale effect will change as the supplier's capacity is changed. Then, consider the coordination of supply chain under the circumstances both the supplier's limited capacity and asymmetric demand information, and solve it by the decisions of whether and how to change the capacity of the supplier, followed by numerical results verify its effectiveness.This study can guide the application of supply chain management in enterprises somewhere, and has a certain positive effects for the following researchs on supply chain coordination.
