Village, is a relatively closed space with a specific meaning self-sufficient living space. Living in this particular time and space, people creat their own local culture and social rules in the collective life of them for an enough term. As the carrier of the village people′s common life, public space maximumly carries the source of local knowledge and meaning, and the establishment,heritage and change processes of the village public space, not only shows the history of people′s public life, but also it reflects people's collective memory , meanwhile, it is also the self-interpretation and self-practice of the collective meaning of life. In the social transition, the village public space is divided into many spaces with different functions from the whole versatile public space. It not only changes people′s spontaneous attitude to self-conscious attitude, but also it reflects the fighting and communication between the traditional folk living culture and state policies in the process of urbanization and the construction of the new socialist countryside. In the course of this game, people try to obey their traditional living habits and thinking logic, seeking for the physical comfort and spiritual sense of stability in our social system and reflecting their cultural awareness and spiritual strength in a conscious or unconscious way. I try to take my hometown - the South Hou Village in Linqu of Shandong province where I have lived for more than twenty years as an example. Through the description and analysis of the public space, this paper attempts to explore how the folk customs are mixed up into their routine life from the junior level. In the course of the description of their life experiences , it tries to explore the cultural symbols and cultural password which impact of the village people′s public life.
