Under more than 20 years'reform, Chinese film industry has witnessed the growth of a gradually mature market and a very clear direction of industry development. Culture industry, in the new round of Chinese development planning, has became the leading role as low-carbon industry. Since 1993, China has began to carry out a comprehensive reform of structure in film industry, from planned economy to market economy. And it is manifest that movie theatres play a pivotal role in the whole film industry chain, as it is not only the place for culture consumption, but also the crucial ingredient which made up the development layout of the city. Film chains, as the opetating mode in this day and age, show the unparalled superiority. Both the expansion of film chains and the renovation of more moive theatres present a dramatic upward trend, since the reform of system of film chains conducted in China, 2002. Besides that, diversified capital structure, dynamic construction of digital film chains, different patterns of crosstown re-organization and the comprehensive rapidlly-developing of itself turn to be the cardiac in propelling the development of film industry.In the first part of this paper, I summarize the overall development of the film industry, especially analyzing the place and functions of it, and pinpoint the drawbacks of development at present. There is a general introduction of industry analysis which will be used in the article in the second chapter. Furthermore, the third and forth parts are served as the theme of the paper, which means to use classical way called SCP paradigm framework of the theory of industrial organization to analyze the Chinese film chains industry. To start with, based on recent data of film market, I determin the absolute value of market centralization, then, to judge the market structure and measure whether existing effect come from economy of scale, by the way of re-analysis and evaluation. Secondly, compare with its counterparts in United States and synthesize it with empirical data to observe and analyze the acts and performance of film chains enterprises. The fifth which is the final part, I propose certain policy suggestions for accelerating the development of film chains industry through comprehensive analysis ranging from structure, acts to performance of film chains industry.
