In international trade practice, how to select a correct document to avoid risks and losses for each party, is an important issue. We know, due to various reasons, the bill of loading, sea waybill and telex released are not perfect. In practice, the bill of lading is in late arrival usually, because the production and circulation of bill of lading are very complex, making the buyer fails to deliver timely, and the goods strand port, and the risk of buyer raises. Sea waybill and telex released are not documents of title, and there are many problems in actual use. So in international trade, people should fully understand and choose and use these three carefully, so that they can avoid unnecessary losses. But in reality, people often do not choose according to their specific circumstances, just parrot and blindly select. It is easy to see the parties will have great losses because of improper use, and trade order will be interfered, further development of trade will be hindered too.In this article,we start with the characteristics and law of bill of lading, sea waybills and telex released, introduce and compare the nature and characteristics of the three,then articulate and compare their own risk and preventive measures.This highlighted the further and the advantages and disadvantages of the three; the same time, there are case and analysis too, give the reader a clear understanding of the three different risks; Finally, according the above, give summary of principles of the three documents in practical application, and make use of the recommendations.In today's international trade practice, trade depends on the development of transportation, and the bill of loading, sea waybill and telex released have played an important role in transport and payment, and they are the important documents in international trade carriage of goods by sea. All parties in international trade should understand and master the nature, characteristics, use and risk prevention measures of the three to choose the transport documents more correctly, so that the interests of importers and exporters, carriers and banking can be protected. This will largely mitigate risks, resolve difficulties, and promote international trade and smooth the development of maritime transport of goods.
