Comparative Analysis Of Corporate Social Responsibility Report Of China's Commercial Banks

As the core of our economy, commercial banks actively performing corporate social responsibility has important significance. Starting in 2006. commercial bank of our country began to release corporate social responsibility report successively. Corporate social responsibility report of commercial banks explains the situation of fulfilling the social responsibility to the public; facilitates the stakeholders estimate the performance of their social responsibility.Twelve of our seventeen major commercial banks had released<2009 corporate social responsibility report>. Based on the twelve<2009 corporate social responsibility reports> issued by the leading commercial banks, as well as, this paper comparatively analysises and summarizes the integrity of indicators about the report preface, responsibility management, market performance, social performance, environmental performance of the reports; the achievements and the deficiencies of market performance, social performance, environmental performance.Through the comparative analysis, this paper argues that main commercial banks of our country have make great achievements in the process of performing the corporate social responsibility. The achievements of commercial banks performing social responsibility are mainly including create greater value and profit for shareholders; the good faith management, maintain partner interest; positively response national policy and pay taxes, etc. The deficiency of commercial banks fulfilling social responsibility is lack enough attention and improvement measures in existing problems of the operation and development.
