Township enterprises are the driving forces of Chinese economic development,and is greatly supporting Chinese rural economic development.The development of township enterprises makes all that happen:rural industrialization,urbanization and modernization,and find a successful way to settle the challenges of agriculture,village and rural residents. Developing township enterprises is critical to changing the economic structure.This dissertation is trying to give out some approaches to the problem of incentive failure.The first chapter,discusses the background and meaning of the research and gives a brief conclusion of this dissertation,which makes a good preparation for further research.The second chapter,discusses the character and historical state of township enterprises. The basic character and history leads to institution dependence.Development of township enterprises is the foundation of urbanization,reduces the unemployment rate and raises rural residents' income.The third chapter introduces the theories concerned with incentive mechanism,including compensating wage theory,efficient wage theory and sociological theory.The fourth chapter analyzes the current situation of incentive failure. Too low wage and distorted bonus system are the main factors that fail the incentive system.The fifth chapter,figures out the possible way to dissolve the failure of incentive mechanism.Flexible bonus system,efficient wage and harmonious informal group relationship are demanded for successful incentive mechanism.The sixth chapter,concludes the dissertation.Township enterprises are socially embedded in nearby rural areas.We should research on the problem of'Embeddedness'and explain it thoroughly with the help of modern enterprise theory.
