| Human capital investment is central to individual activities. Especially under the environment of undergraduates'difficult employment, it is very meaningful to discussing individual human capital investment. The thesis has analyzed individual human capital investment based on professional core competence, focusing on individuals who don't enter the labor market including high school students, technical school students, undergraduates etc. who mainly engage in educational investment and investment of health care. For these people, individual human capital investment is composed of three elements:investment direction, investment structure and investment amount or desire. And through schooling formal education and health care, individuals are able to cultivate professional core competence. This thesis is aimed at analyzing general individual human capital investment. Based on existing literatures and the theory of human capital and human capital investment, the thesis's body consists of three parts. At first, the methods which individuals use to decide the direction of human capital investment have been discussed, involving SWOT, Self-Directed Search and economically returns analysis. And then the structure of human capital investment has been analyzed, of which in the process the optimal proportion of general human capital and specific human capital has been confirmed by means of isoquant, the model of matching between knowledge or ability and individual initially proposed by the theory of analogy and contrast and the choice of individual ability depth discussed under the system of ability-oriented compensation by marginal analysis. Finally, for those who don't enter the labor market, it is two elemental activities for them to receive schooling education and health care. Accordingly loosening constraints, the amount of educational investment and health care has been explored on the basis of current theoretical model, demonstraing that the two types of investment are correlated mutually and they depend on individual salary to large extent. The main body of human capital investment falls into three classifications: government, firm and individual. A number of scholars carried out researches on human capital investment from the angle of government or firm. But the research from the perspective of individual seems a bit scarce and rough and even if there are some studies they mainly concentrated on revenue-cost analysis about decision in human capital investment. This thesis has analyzed direction, structure and desire of individual human capital investment from the more micro level, forming a complete figuration. At the meantime, combining knowledge about management, psychology and economics, the research not only means that human capital investment is a multi-disciplinary theme but does a good attempt on individual human capital investment. As for study methods, in addition to pure literature reading and theoretical construction, interviewing and questionnaire have been taken advantage of to obtain relevant figures to do empirical demonstration. For example, effectiveness of the three methods deciding investment direction has compared through ANOVA, relation between China's citizen's salaries, education and health investment explored through correlation analysis and regression analysis. |
