With the deep development of the western regions and the rapid industrialization and urbanization, the conflict between the growing demand for the land of urban construction and the protection for basic farmland is becoming increasingly acute. Chongqing's urbanization rate of 2008 was 49.99%,which is between 30% -70% in accelerated phase, in addition of Chongqing being a typical the dual economic structure of "big city with rural areas", therefore, in the context of economic rapid development, to improve the ecological and social environment in city is one of the important land problems facing by development of Chongqing in future. How to make the way of land use of Chongqing from extensive to intensive, and how to improve using efficiency of urban land and promote the intensive use of land resources and sustainable development, have become a serious problem placed in front of the government and urban land manager.Intensive use of urban land evaluation system is a complex system involved in the relationships between population, economic, society, ecology and environmental, and the gather of population, the adjustment of industrial structure and the construction of urban infrastructure, can not be separated from the basic carrier. Intensive use of urban land not only for saving space and resolving the contradiction between people and environment, but also for healthy and sustainable development of the city, is a necessary method of maintaining the social stability and improving the living environment. The "Pressure - State - Response (PSR)" model in this paper not only revealed the close relationships between people and environment in the progress of development of urban land use clearly, but also stressed in the evaluation process the feature of pressure, state and response contained in resources, environment, socio-economic and other aspects. PRS framework simulate the interaction in the chain of human and environment relations, and made the use of urban land divided into three parts: pressure, state and response which formed a dynamic cycle by mutual influence and interact, each part reflects the situation of intensive use of urban land from different aspect. By the evaluation of each subsystem to reflect land use efficiency affected by the relationships between people and land. With the concept and framework of sustainable development theory ,this paper select Nan'an District in Chongqing as typical item, according the relationships between people and environment, establish intensive use of land evaluation system based on PSR framework, and try to explore some comprehensive evaluation methods of intensive land use.The main study of this paper includes:â‘ The specific content and related factors of intensive use of urban land.â‘¡Building theoretical framework of intensive use of urban land based on PSR and analyzing its influencing factors. Introduce the framework of the PSR and the related concepts, and on basis of the extended concept of urban land use built PSR framework.â‘¢Building evaluation index system of intensive use of urban land based on PRS framework. According to the characteristics of city in China now, in the view of the integrated benefit of intensive use of urban land , following construction principle, establish evaluation index system of intensive use of urban land based on PSR framework from the pressure, state and response representing the urban economy, ecology and society conditions on the basis of research results.â‘£Empirical research. Based on evaluation index system previously established, select the Nan'an District as an example, according to the city's 2005-2008 economic and social development data and related land use plan, make quantitative and qualitative evaluation on the intensive level of Nan'an District, and analyze the reasons for the change of index, and get conclusion. The main conclusions:â‘ The results show that the intensive level of Nan'an District is rather high, and quite satisfied overall, but the fluctuations of the integrated index of intensive use of land is fierce, and the entire system is unstable.â‘¡PSR model actually indicates the problems appearing in the intensive use of urban land, which could direct the making up of land policy.â‘¢coordination function formula measures the south bank of intensive land use system is in inconsistent state, and with the comprehensive evaluation index showing a similar process of change.â‘¢coordination function measure the intensive level of Nan'an District and show that the intensive use system is out of coordination, and the progress is similar to the integrated index's.
