In a way, entrepreneur's ability is periodic ability. The traditional theory of management research held that economic capital, human capital and social capital were key factors affecting individual's periodic ability, and then affected enterprise's competitive edge. However, recent studies show that psychological capital is another key factor. There are two distinctive arguments about psychological capital, namely trait approach and state approach. In trait approach mentality is treated as personality trait, while state approach emphasizes a kind of positive psychological state, represented by entrepreneurial self-efficacy. In this paper, psychological capital was divided into two levels:trait level and state level. The former affected the latter, and then affected entrepreneur's periodic ability. Based on literature review, according to different dimensions of personality trait, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial ability, this paper built a relational model between psychological capital (personality trait and entrepreneurial self-efficacy) and relevant items of entrepreneur's periodic ability. It also proposed relevant proposition. Finally, taking company H and entrepreneur A for example, this paper not only verified proposition proposed, but also revised afore mentioned model on the grounds of new-found proposition in case study. At the same time, this paper clearly showed how personality trait, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and periodic ability make entrepreneur achieve lasting success.
