With the development of internet and popularization of computer, human's real life is gradually integrated with the virtual world closely. Some entertainments which based on the network begin to replace the traditional entertainment and massively multiplayer online games are the best example. But some problems are beginning to emerge during the process of the development of online games. The design of many online games can't grasp the emotions of the player correctly thus the game itself can't provide the player with a good emotional experience. Either the player does not want to play or the games give the player an incorrect influence, causing some social problems.Using the problems that appeared in the design of online games of many designers domestic and overseas as a reference, this article will sum up the links which should be noted and obeyed in the emotional design of online games. Analyzing the emotional influence on the players caused by the instinctual, behavioral and reflective design of online games, this article will explore the emotional design of online games from the root and offer relevant opinions for reference. This article is mainly divided into five sections :Part one: illustrate the research backgrounds, research methods and research object of the emotional design of online games. Point out the meaning of research and innovative point of this article.Part two: undertake research according to relevant documents, define the concept of emotion design of online games and point out the mistake of emotion design of online games. Part three: analyze the unique emotional appeal of online games from the merits and demerits, form, content and game types.Part four: illustrate some examples of emotional design according to personal experiences in Online Games Company and survey of some players. Explore the core that supports the emotional construction of online games through these examples.Part five: Have a deeply perspective"rethinking"of the emotional design of online games. Combining player's emotional experience, discuss how to correct the problem of the spreading of the incorrect emotion of the online games.
