Over the passed decades, China foreign trade has made great progress. China has become a major trading nation but not a strong one. The competitiveness of our country's trade structure is not strong, which is vulnerable to the impact of external market volatility, especially in the face of financial crisis. Because the commodity composition of foreign trade is the comprehensive reflection of a country's development level of economy and technology, its condition of industrial structure, its international competitiveness of commodities, its status in the international division of labor and international trade. On the basis of empirical analysis, the condition of comparative advantage reflected on the commodities structure of foreign trade. It's obvious that the long term growth of China's foreign trade has depended mainly on the development of its own comparative advantages and the demand from world market. But to transform to a strong trade country, we ought to analyze the structure and connotation of foreign trade. Optimizing foreign trade structure which keep foreign trade growth sustainable.At present, it's a critical period of domestic economic restructuring. Optimization and transformation of trade structure become our research theme. Based on this consideration, this article chooses trade structure as our research topic. Review of development of the trade structure is the theoretical basis for this paper. Based on current trade structure, trade structure and the relevance of comparative advantage of the study is the starting point for this paper. Analysis of the optimal path of trade structure transformation is an important manifestation of theoretical application. Through trade structure optimizing, promote industrial upgrading and achieve the sustainable development of China'foreign trade.
