With the further deepening of reform and opening up, China’s economy has developed rapidly, and the construction has made great achievements at the cost of resource and environmental. Research dates show that our overall energy efficiency in industrial, electricity, transportation, agriculture and civil field is 30%, which equivalents to the level of developed countries 60 years ago. At present, the energy efficient is more than 40% in most Western Europe Country, and 50% in Japan. The energy consumption of china is about 3.5 times of the world average, according to the unit of gross national product. Energy problem has became a bottleneck restricting to national economic development, and the energy-saving has been taken more seriously. It’s very important to use thermal insulation materials, especially environmentally sound thermal insulation coatings to reduce energy consumption. So, the research on environmentally sound thermal insulation coatings has attracted great attention.A new environmentally sound thermal insulation coating, which has excellent properties of thermal barrier and thermal reflection, was prepared from water soluble acrylic resin as the binder, expanded vermiculite, sepiolite and hollow microspheres as the major filler and some other assistants. In this paper, the effect of fill type, content, particle size on thermal insulation property has been investigated by thermal conductivity and surface temperature of the plate. By orthogonal test, we get the optimal formula—water soluble acrylic resin 6g, expanded vermiculite 4g , sepiolite 2g, hollow microspheres 3g, water 10g, some assistants 0.9g.The results showed that the thermal conductivity of our coating is 0.024 W/(m·K) while the similar products in the market is 0.050 W/(m·K) at the testing average temperature of 70°C. The surface temperature of the steel plate with 3.5mm coatings decreased from 150°C inside to 85.8°C outside. At room temperature , the bond strength of the coating is 554kPa much higher than national standards (25kPa) . The coating we developed reflects about 80% of near infrared radiation, which also proves good thermal insulation property. So, this composite thermal insulation coating gives better heat insulation with the performance of thermal barrier and thermal reflection.The thermal insulation coating has many advantages, such as the low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal insulation property, environmental friendly, low cost, and simple process of construction. It is particularly suitable to be used on different types of equipment. |
