Abstract/Summary:
Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) is an effective way of removing dust in the atmosphere and is widely used in electric power plants, cement and metallurgy industry. As a key part of ESP system, High-voltage power supply receives enormous attention because of its effect on efficiency of dust removing and energy consumption. A lot of researches prove that the pulse energization improves energy efficiency and controls back corona better than DC energization. So it is important to investigate the ESP with pulse energization.Firstly, the paper introduces the ESP’s principle of operation and its powering modes, research on the way of dust resistivity measuring and factors on resistivity. A kind of pulse power supply design is given: the system includes rectifier filter circuit, full-bridge converter, step up transformer and high voltage rectifier circuit. The full-bridge converter adopts series resonant circuit to realize soft switching technology, decreasing switching losses. Voltage multiplying rectifier is used to multiple voltage and rectification. Then, the system is simulated by PSpice to verify the design and pen-loop power supply is fabricated for experiment. The pluse voltage whose pulse width is less than 250μs and peak voltage is more than 30kV is got from experiment. Finally, design is given for closed-loop system based on TL2407 and the software framework is discussed, which can be referred for future close loop test.
