Lately, spherical open cell aluminum foam has grabbed some serious attention as astructural and functional material. It also has become a popular topic of research institutions.People often used NaCl particles preparing for preforms in the past infiltration castingtechnology. By this means, the spherical open cell aluminum owns the property of lowporosity,irregular shape and poor pore connectivity. During this experiment, we used theCaCl2to prepare for preforms innovatively and commercial-purity aluminum as the basemetal, optimized process parameters, and finally carried out spherical open cell aluminumfoams with high quality. Building further on this foundation, we explored thesound-absorption property, compression property and corrosion resisting property ofspherical open cell aluminum foams, as well as the difference of the sound-absorptionproperty and corrosion resisting property after the micro arc oxidation.The research results prove that:(1)The quality of CaCl2preforms affects the quality of open cell aluminum foams directly inthe infiltration casting technology, meanwhile the sintering temperature, heating rate and theparticle size work for the quality of CaCl2preforms. Sintering temperature of620℃,heatingrate of2℃/min and10h’s sintering time is a pretty well process to prepare CaCl2preforms.(2) The spherical open cell aluminum foams own poor sound absorption performance underthe frequency of1000Hz,while a fantastic during the frequency of1000-6000Hz. Thus it isparticularly suitable being used as sound-absorbing materials during the sensitive frequency.(3) The porosity,aperture size and thickness have an effect on the sound absorption onspherical open cell aluminum foams. Smaller aperture, higher thickness and porosity make agood sound absorption performance of spherical open cell aluminum foams in a particularsituation. (4) Micro arc oxidation acts positively but not significantly on the sound absorbing ofspherical open cell aluminum foams.(5) Corrosion resisting property of aluminum foams can be improved by micro arc oxidation,different oxidation time leads a discrepancy. There is optimum oxidation time for the bestcorrosion resistance. During it,aluminum foams owns better corrosion resistance.(6) The compressive stress-strain curve of spherical open cell aluminum foams includeslinear elasticity, yield platform and densification stage. During the densification stage, asmall compression load will cause large plastic deformation. As a result, spherical open cellaluminum foams can be befittingly made of energy absorption materials. The aperture size ofmakes very little difference to the compressive property of spherical open cell aluminumfoams. |
