As a important NC machine,high speed precision horizontal machining center isa key equipment urgent1y needed for our country’s automoblle,aircraft and precisionmould manufacturing industries.However,at present,there is a biggish disparity indesign technology,manufacturing technology and machine performance betweendomestic HMC and oversea HMC.The disparity becomes more apparent in basictheory and key techno1ogy research and study.Supported by the Naiotnal Key&New Product Developing and with referenceto WuHan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group Corporation own deve1oping strategyand marketing experience,The article gives a detai1ed theoretic analysis andapp1ication research for WuHan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group Corporation’s,R&D cooperation with Japan developed high speed Precision Horizontal MachiningCenter-WHCQ1600and bring forward the general proposal,structure design,performance ana1ysi,manufactoring process.The developing pattern,concerned theoryand some key techo1ogy for NC High Speed Precision Horizontal Machining Centeris discussed in the article as well,main achievements and features in the paper areas follows:(1) Through analysis and comparison between oversea and domestic high speedmachining center,the article indicates that the High Speed precision Horizonia1Machining Center WHCQ1600is designed for small and medium size precisioncomponents used in aircraft,military and mould manufacturing industries.itintroduces the design requirements and key technologies for High Speed PreCisionHorizontal Machining Center and lay out a Plan to develop high speed,highefficiency,high Precision and high re1iability machining center with specialcharacteristic of wu zhong.(2) Based on the structure and general layout for for domestic and overseahorizontal machining center, the article brings forward a genera1proposal to deve1opa High Speed Precision Horizonta1Machining Center for small and medium sizepreision parts.By reference to the theory of “uniform integrated displacement andrigidity”,the worktable is designed to feed in axial direction together with theworkpiece. This structure ensures uniform integrated displacement and rigidity andguarantees stable working accuracy.(3) The article gives a detailed study for the srtucutre of spindle system,drivesystem of WHCQ1600High Speed Precision Horizontal Machining Center.lt laysoutthe design method for spind1e structre,designs the drive system which is integrated by high speed ball screw and linear guideway,introduces the calculation rules for1oad inertia and torque of inertia motor.(4) FEA ana1ysis and optimum design is app1ied for the column and machinebody of WHCQ1600high speed precision HMC by CAD/CAE technology.(5) The artcle provides a detailed study to the manufacturing technologyconcerned with High Speed Precision HMC and analyzes the assembly for spindle,themachining process for spindle and pre-tighten stress for ballscrew. And finally putforward the process flow and manufacturing method which match the company’sactual requirement.(6) Points out that under the condition of high speed cutting, the traditionalhandle problems and performance requirements of the high-speed cutting processingthe handle. Detailed introduces several current high-speed handle is very common,and compare the advantages and disadvantages of various high-speed handle. Finally,combining the actual processing ability of company, select the HSK A100handle at ahigh speed.
