Assembly as the last stage of the production process, the accuracy and efficiency of process design has a great influence on product quality and yield. As3D CAD technology has been widely used in today’s manufacturing, assembly process design is still based on2D files and2D engineering drawings, and3D model only play an auxiliary reference role. It severely restrict the further development of3D digital production. To achieve paperless design and production, the assembly process design method based on3D model is needed.3D model as the only source of assembly link, must be integrated with the model design information, assembly process information, assembly process planning and other necessary information, thus build up the integrated3D model to ensure assembly process design efficient and accurate, and share data with other production stage to achieve full three-dimensional digital collaborative design and manufacturing.Based on analyzing the present situation and problems of3D assembly process design at home and abroad, put forward a3D assembly process design method based on integrated model, and systematicly research the3D assembly process design theory and system. The main work and achievements in paper are as follows:1. By analysising the influence of part process model building on assembly process design, realize the integration of part model and process information based on the theory of MBD, then express parts process information model for visualization to lay a foundation for the construction and expression of assembly process model.2. Based on ontology theory define the necessary information for assembly process model to express and build the semantic network of assembly processes to formal and structure the process information, then combine the assembly procedure model with part process information model to establish the assembly process model.3. Put forward a3D assembly process design technology roadmap to take an in-depth study on the key techniques of assembly process design, including establish3D assembly process information model to classify the process information, and build an assembly process database; According to the classification of assembly information define the information symbols to realize3D annotation on assembly model; Recording the key frames of disassembly in order, then antitone the order to generate the assembly process simulation animation. 4. Based on Pro/ENGINEER secondary development toolkit Pro/TOOLKIT and Oracle database and Visual C++integrated development environment, build the3D assembly process design prototype system, and validate the feasibility of the system function with example.
