In recent years nano-gold supported catalysts have been widely studied and become one of the hottest research focuses in catalysis. It was thought that the catalytic properties of nano-gold supported catalysts are related with size and morphology of gold particles, the interaction between the support material and gold particles as well as the nature of the support material. Although a lot of studies about gold catalysts have been reported, how to get dispersed nano-gold catalysts is still not clear. This paper mainly focuses on the effect of different preparation parameters on gold particle size during preparation of Au/HZSM-5and Au/TS-1catalysts. For Au/HZSM-5catalyst prepared by vacuum deposition precipitation, calcination temperature, calcination atmosphere and addition of potassium have a great influence on gold particle size. Calcination at low temperature and inert atmosphere (nitrogen and argon) were favorable to the dispersion of gold particles; compared with K-Au/HZSM-5with2%K, the addition of0.1%Kis beneficial to the dispersion of gold particles. For Au/TS-1catalysts prepared by incipient-wetness impregnation, anion adsorption and cation adsorption methods, calcination under hydrogen atmosphere is feasible to get smaller gold particle size compared with calcined in nitrogen and air. For Au/HZSM-5and Au/TS-1prepared by vacuum sulfhydryl protection method, the gold particle size was uniformly dispersed. However, gold particle size of Au/TS-1catalyst was smaller, the mean particle size was5to8nm.
