With the national economy, large-scale industrial equipments and modern sophisticated technological development, to the metallic material variety and the high grade large-scale semifinished materials’ demand, set a harsher request to the metallic material, general metallurgy is very difficult to meet, electroslag metallurgy technology came into being just. ESR is a secondary metal smelting, refining in the first further purified on the basis of steel ingot metal and improve the crystal structure, to obtain high-quality metal products. Electroslag furnace is a special device for electroslag metallurgy, the electroslag furnace mechanical system is under the complex thermal reaction function, carries on the thermal analysis to the electroslag furnace mechanism to have the actual guiding sense to electroslag furnace’s design.The paper base on120ton electroslag furnace mechanical systems as the research background, access to a large number of relevant literature summarized the electroslag furnace mechanical system’s structure, the function and the development present situation, analyzed the electroslag furnace arm’s combined heat transfer process, carried on the combined heat transfer related value computation work, established of an arm-slag basin-air body composed of five analysis units based on the Workbench/CFX combined heat transfer of temperature field finite element analysis model, carried on the combined temperature field solution and the simulation analysis work to the electroslag furnace arm.Firstly, the paper conceived the introduction of air as heat transfer medium and took the air into the model to carry on the analysis based on the combined heat transfer process analysis.Second, the paper focused analysis of thermal effects of radiation in the combined heat transfer’s related numerical calculus, obtained the radiation heat flow not to be possible to neglect, it must join as the source item to the model analysis.Then the paper established a Workbench/CFX combined heat transfer temperature field’s three-dimensional analysis model, simplified the model and carried out analysis of pre-treatment.Finally, the paper carried on the electroslag furnace arm’s combined heat transfer temperature field solution and the simulation analysis, obtained arm’s temperature field distribution diagrams, through analogue result’s analysis, confirmed the modelling plan rationality which adopts, provided the basis for further analysis and had certain project application value.
